LONDON


London has a temperate marine climate, like much of the British Isles, so the city rarely sees extremely high or low temperatures.
Summers are warm with average high temperatures of 23 °C and lows of 14 °C, however, temperatures could exceed 25 °C on many days.
Winters in London are chilly, but rarely below freezing with temperatures around 2 – 8 °C, while spring has mild days and cool evenings.
London has regular but generally light precipitation throughout the year, with average precipitation of 583.6 millimetres every year.
Snow is relatively uncommon, particularly because heat from the urban area can make London up to 5 °C hotter than the surrounding areas in winter.
Light snowfall, however, is sometimes, but not always, seen up to a few times a year.
In the second half of the 19th century and the first half of the 20th, London was noted for its dense fogs and smogs.
Following the deadly Great Smog of 1952, the Clean Air Act 1956 was passed, leading to the decline of such severe pollution in the capital.

Experiências de vida
Certo dia fomos ao encontro de um grupo de pessoas com determinadas experiências de vida nem sempre agradáveis. Este grupo de todas as idades têm como abrigo “A casa dos sem-abrigo” em Portalegre esta casa reúne condições essências e proporciona-lhes momentos agradáveis dentro do que lhes é possível. Não falta amor/carinho, por parte das pessoas que lá trabalham e de quem os visita que nem sempre são familiares (como eles tanto desejavam). Ma sim de amigos que tentam proporcionar-lhes alguns momentos de alegria lendo histórias e trocando experiências.
Nós alunos CEF do 8ºE participamos numa atividade na aula de cidadania, que nos fez refletir no que observamos. Os habitantes da casa como a sua diretora receberam-nos com agrado. Estes homens e mulheres perderam tudo na vida como amigos, família, emprego e momentos de felicidade, chegando mesmo a perder as pessoas mais próximas, entrando em desespero e procurando nesta casa o carinho que não tiveram no mundo exterior. Acabando por receber por parte de todas as pessoas que trabalham nesta casa tudo o que eles necessitavam. Confessaram que estavam arrependidos da vida que tinham levado antes e deram nos uma lição de vida.
Ficámos  a saber como mudar a nossa vida se for o caso e não entrar por maus caminhos...




Life Experiences

One day we went to meet a group of people with certain life experiences which are not always pleasant.

This age varied group has as its own shelter "The home of the homeless" in Portalegre. This home meets the basic conditions and provides them endearing moments within what is possible.

In this shelter, the homeless do not miss love / affection by the people who work there and who visits them are not always relatives (as they wished so). But friends who try to provide them a few moments of joy, reading stories and sharing experiences.

We, students of 8th E participated in an activity from the class of Cidadania e Mundo  Atual, that made us think about the world we live in. The Homeless people and the Homeless House’s Principal received us with no problem. These men and women lost everything in life:  friends; family; job and moments of happiness even losing close friends, losing hope. Nevertheless they tried to find happiness in this house “ The Homeless Home” in Portalegre.

Here they have come to gain, from everyone who Works there, everything they need. They ended up to confess that they were sorry of their previous life  and gave us a lesson for a life: we came to know how to change our life without going on through the wrong ways.
